weather report, near dawn

Yesterday, the storm made it darkish all day, kind of like what I'd expect were I living closer to the arctic circle. Last night, the winds howled, knocking most of the ice off the trees. I woke up to see stars twinkling, which meant that the cloud cover had lifted. Today, as is often the case after a storm, there are few clouds in sight, but we still have early-morning light, a little dusky. The difference today is that we're likely to see actual sunshine later.

Today, I start my last week at work. I've gone from having little work to do to being unsure what I need to do or should do. Certainly I need to pack, but I have brought in very little stuff because I've been commuting by subway. I have some personal errands to attend to that are much more easily accomplished in the city than out here. When I ask for tasks, the conversation often drifts to other, more fun, topics. Onward.
