quiet day, productive day, silly games

Yesterday, it snowed all day, but there was only a tiny amount of accumulation. I went to work, as did many other people. Today, the real snow storm blew in, and it was a doozy. We didn't get a lot of snow (maybe 6-8 inches here), but it started out very cold and yet very slippery. We woke up to a few inches of snow and a lot of school closings.

I stayed home and set up my remote office at the dining room table. Got a lot done, too. You know how religious dyslexics believe in the existence of dog? And when people's dogs ride shotgun in cars, you say that "Dog is their co-pilot?" (At least we do.) Well, today, TAC was my co-pilot. She kept a careful eye on me, and kept me company for several hours.

I shoveled the driveway around noon, just as the freezing rain started (yuck!). Now it's raining, but it's so close to freezing that if we're lucky, we'll wake up to a sodden mess tomorrow, and otherwise we'll wake up to a massive skating rink.

A marvelous amusement -- my friend K pointed out the Lost in Translation site, which translates an English phrase back and forth between five languages with hilarious results. Two of my favorites:

eventually becomes
